Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun as Seen Through the HP Mixed Reality Headset

If you like stealth games, chances are you will like Shadow Tactics.

Last week I received the Acer Mixed Reality headset.

This week the HP Mixed Reality headset I ordered showed up.

I’ll be creating an unboxing video soon, but wanted to show off this little test I did…

I hooked up the the HP device and streamed my Xbox One to the Xbox App running through the Mixed Reality Portal.

The cliff side house has a theater room where they positioned the app by default.

I actually streamed the gameplay over on Mixer. I’ll probably be doing more live streaming over there. So if you are interested, go ahead and click the follow to be notified when I go live.

The game Shadow Tactics is actually pretty fun. It’s been out on the PC for a while, but just released to the Xbox One.

If you like stealth based games, you’d most likely like this.

Plus… the game was made with Unity!

Check out the gameplay here:

HoloPaintball Source Code Available

image

Back in May, I created a quick demo that let me shoot my walls and furniture with holographic paintballs.

It was a  lot of fun.

This past Friday, I released a master class over at LearnHoloLens.com, the premium HoloLens membership site I run, where I showed the members how to submit a HoloLens app to the Windows Store.

The app I used for that master class was this HoloPaintball app.

So I decided to release the source code for HoloPaintball…

You can get the source code for free here.

Complete Software Developer’s Career Guide

Back in 2014, John Sonmez wrote the book, “Soft Skills: The software developer’s life manual”. It was a great book that I raved about in that post.

He’s back with another book that focuses solely on your career as a software developer. The title says it all … The Complete Software Developer’s Career Guide.

The book is launching today, and I’m grabbing it. But I wanted to get this post out here because the book is being launched at an unbeatable price of just 99 cents. That’s right, for less than a buck you can get the eBook for the next 48 hours.

If you’d prefer the paper back, it is currently $19, but I’m not sure how long it will remain at that price.

I’ll do a proper review once I read the book, but I have no problem recommending this book to you because of how good John’s first book was. I talk about it in the video this week.

You can grab the book here:

That is NOT an affiliate link. I’m not making money off this. I just know it is going to be good.

Oh, and if you are reading this post today – Wednesday, July 19th, 2017 – then you have the opportunity to jump into the Learn HoloLens membership!

If you are reading this at a later date, and the doors are closed make sure to jump on the notification list so you can join a fantastic community of HoloLens developers and become a HoloLens authority in less time.

Dream Build Play 2017

Dream Build Play is back!

Back in 2007 Microsoft had the first Dream Build Play contest. Yes, 10 years ago. Then it went away for a while … like 7 years or so…

But it is back! And I’m excited about it.

You can check it out here, or get a little history lesson and learn about something new by watching the video below:
