Build 2017 HoloLens and Mixed Reality Sessions

image

In case you weren’t aware, the Build conference from Microsoft is a premiere conference where many new technologies are announced. In 2011, Windows 8 was announced. In 2015, the HoloLens as announced.

I expect that today and tomorrow we will see great sessions all around HoloLens and Mixed Reality.

The video this weeks walks through finding and filtering the sessions you want to watch.

Here are the instructions in text form:

Head to http://channel9.msdn.com/ and go to the Events tab. Select Microsoft Build and then Build 2017.

Click the Filters button and under the Term search, enter either HoloLens or Mixed Reality and click Filter.

You should see between 13 and 16 different sessions that touch on the topic.

HoloPaintball aka HoloLens Paintball

This week I created a little demo showing off the HoloLens handling shooting hundreds of paintballs and having them splat across the room.

It is pretty satisfying to watch. The HoloLens handled the task with ease!

It’s a short video. Take a look and leave me a comment on what you think.

Having Fun with HoloLens Particles

I’m heading out today to the East Coast Game Conference in Raleigh, but I wanted to get my weekly video out for you.

I’m working on particle systems for my upcoming master class over at LearnHoloLens.com and I decided to bring in an asset from the store and modify it to work on the HoloLens.

It worked well on the HoloLens, but the video is jerky because my machine was under a heavy load when streaming it from the device. I’ll make sure I come back to this and do a better video in the future.

I absolutely love getting great looking particle effects to run on the HoloLens.

Enjoy the video!
