A few weeks ago I created a simple demo of a bouncing holographic ball. I’ve extended the demo to actually take into account the geometry of the room that the HoloLens provides in the form of spatial mapping.
In the demo video below you will the ball bouncing off of the different objects in my basement. The spatial mapping geometry can be seen since I used a blue wireframe material. While the mesh is visible, the ball is hidden when it is behind an object like a couch. It isn’t hidden from view when I hide the spatial mapping data. Once that is hidden, you can see the ball through the couch. I’ll be tackling that at some point in the near future.
If you have anything you want to see let me know. If you want me to create a tutorial on how to do spatial mapping on the HoloLens leave me a comment and let me know. If there is enough interest, I’ll spend some time creating a step by step tutorial.
Enjoy the video!
